Consecutive translation is the most commonly used type of interpretation. In a consecutive translation, the translator first listens to a specific piece of speech delivered by the speaker, when the speaker stops speaking, the translator translates that piece of speech into another language utterly. During a sequential translation, the speaker usually pauses every 1-5 minutes (at the end of each paragraph or thought), creates a condition for the translation of the text. Another source says that speech can last 15 minutes. In this case, translator takes notes. There are also cases in the history of translations when a speaker speaks continuously for one hour, then applies to translator for a translation. On the advice of some translators, if the memory is sufficiently loaded, the translator may require the speaker to interrupt his speech.

A person can remember a few words in a minute, but the point is not to remember a few words in a sequential order. If we continuously listen to a certain text, then our memory is loaded. This type of translation is mainly used during meetings, negotiations, discussions, classes and presentations.
